Grateful for 2023

It is a magical time of year to be in California!

I have had an incredible holiday season and I hope you have too! I have spent time macrame-ing, listening to books on tape, watching movies and enjoying spending time with family. I didn't think that I would make it to 2023 alive, much less be this close to 2024. Blessings are all around me as my treatment continues to help me live. My next scans are the first week of January and I am anxiously awaiting the results so we can assess the last three months of treatment. In the meantime, I am optimistic and feel loved and cared for by my unbelievable family and friends.

As many of you know, my stud of a husband is an accomplished athlete. He has been supporting me in my desire to start working out again. It was hard to imagine being able to do things like go to Crossfit while I was on the previous chemo, Gemzar, but on the current chemo, Trodelvy, I have much more energy. I also have fewer side effects of treatment. I have been trying to go for walks, do some yoga and go to Crossfit at least once per week. Exercise has been helping me feel *almost* normal.

In the past month, Andrew and I have been sick with one of the many bugs going around so it slowed us down a bit. However, we are on the mend and are looking forward to Andrew's birthday 1/1 and the new year. I am so grateful to be looking toward 2024 with renewed hope for survival. So much is uncertain and at the same time I am blessed beyond belief to have so much love and gentleness in my life.

Wishing you all the best in the new year!
